Minneapolis Mediation Lawyer

Minnesota Divorce Mediation Attorney

Mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) are utilized in more family law cases now than ever before. Parties who want to resolve their disputes creatively, and without court involvement often turn to mediation in the hopes of resolving things more amicably and in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. In addition, many courts require that parties in family law matters attempt to resolve their disputes through ADR before going to court for a hearing or trial. Jane Binder has extensive experience helping clients select a mediator and advise them as they go through the ADR process.

Mediation and ADR is an attractive method of dispute resolution for several reasons, including:

  • Mediation typically takes less time than litigation.
  • Mediation can be more cost-effective.
  • Mediation allows the parties to resolve issues on their own rather than being directed by a judge.
  • Mediation gives the parties a sense of control in dispute resolution.

If you need a skilled attorney to help guide you through the mediation process, or if you have questions regarding other alternative methods of dispute resolution, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with our office.

In addition, Jane Binder is a qualified neutral under Rule 114. Attorney Binder mediates many cases for parties with a wide variety of family law issues in dispute. Her vast experience as a family law attorney, as well as her exceptional ability to remain neutral, make her an outstanding choice for mediating any family law matter.

For several years, Hennepin County Family Court Judges and Referees have referred cases to Jane Binder to serve as the parties' Financial Early Neutral Evaluator (FENE). She also conducts Financial Early Neutral Evaluations in cases where the parties have requested her services outside of court. As a Financial Early Neutral evaluator, Jane Binder helps parties negotiate a settlement and identify the issues that the parties are unable to resolve. She then gives the parties her evaluative opinion about those issues, letting them know how a court is likely to rule on the issue, which often provides the parties with the direction they need to settle the case.
